Baltimore [9/4/24] — The Daily Record has named EcoMap Technologies (EcoMap), a category-defining ecosystem intelligence AI software company, a recipient of its 2024 Empowering Women Award.
The Empowering Women Awards recognize companies and organizations that show a strong commitment to supporting and elevating women in Maryland. Honorees demonstrate a track record of hiring and promoting women; support programs to mentor women in their organizations and address inequalities; show a strong record of women on the company’s board or in C-suite positions; and establish DEI programs and philanthropic efforts to support women. Judges reviewed each nominee’s application and letters of reference and evaluated the information relative to the company’s resources.
EcoMap is committed to making information about surrounding ecosystems effortlessly accessible. From college alumni networks to entire industries, ecosystems often remain hidden and, consequently, inaccessible, leading to inequity and inefficiency. EcoMap is dedicated to unveiling these hidden networks, fostering an environment where all ecosystems can thrive.
Since its inception, EcoMap has been a catalyst for attracting and nurturing unique, diverse talent within Baltimore. Today, the company proudly reports that 50% of its workforce is nonwhite and 50% is nonmale, with an impressive 73% of its leadership team comprised of women.
“The 2024 Empowering Women honorees invest in, elevate and support women leaders throughout the state. They demonstrate tangible, innovative efforts to assist women in taking on new opportunities in business and in the community,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media/The Daily Record. “We are pleased to honor these organizations that show a strong commitment to women leaders in Maryland.”
